Sunnyvale's Town Council meeting on June 9, 2025, celebrated a significant achievement as the town received two prestigious awards for its communication efforts. Tom, a representative from Cooksey Communications, took the podium to announce that Sunnyvale had won a Hermes Creative Award for its 2024 State of the Town Video, recognized for excellence in interactive media.

In addition, the town was honored with an Award of Honor from the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMEO) for the Sunnyvale Review, a print publication. This accolade was particularly noteworthy, as it was awarded amidst stiff competition from over 700 entries statewide. Judges praised the newsletter for its clear presentation and thoughtful content, scoring it 24.5 out of 30 points.

Tom highlighted the growth of TAMEO, which has expanded from 200 members to over 900 in the past 15 years, underscoring the increasing importance of effective municipal communication. The recognition of Sunnyvale's efforts not only reflects the town's commitment to quality communication but also positions it among other notable communities like Killeen and The Woodlands.

As the council members celebrated these achievements, the focus remained on the importance of engaging and informative communication in serving the community effectively.
