The permit seeks to renew the studio's operation for a decade, building on a history of successful renewals since its initial approval in 2009. Staff reported no issues with the studio over the past five years and recommended approval, which was met with support from the commission.

Roxanne Higbee, the studio owner, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to extend her business's operation, noting that the request for a 10-year renewal was suggested by city staff to streamline the process. The commission's approval of the special use permit is expected to enhance the community's access to dance education for both children and adults.
