El Camino Real High School has made history once again by securing its eleventh national title in the Academic Decathlon, marking a remarkable achievement as the second school ever to achieve a three-peat. This accomplishment was celebrated during a recent city council meeting, where the dedication and hard work of the students were recognized.
The council acknowledged the impressive balance these students maintain between their academic responsibilities and team commitments, highlighting their inspirational efforts. Coach Stephanie Frankel, who has led the team to success year after year, expressed her gratitude for the recognition. She emphasized the importance of honoring students for their dedication and intelligence, rather than focusing on negativity in the world.
As part of the celebration, the council announced that a plaque commemorating the 2025 championship will soon be displayed beneath the Academic Decathlon sign on Valley Circle, serving as a lasting tribute to the students' achievements. Certificates will also be awarded to each team member in a private ceremony, further acknowledging their hard work and commitment.
This recognition not only celebrates the students' academic excellence but also reinforces the value of education and teamwork within the community. The council's support highlights the importance of fostering an environment where students can thrive and be celebrated for their accomplishments.
