The Hallandale Beach City Commission meeting on June 4, 2025, highlighted the results of a newly conducted business survey, marking the first such assessment in nearly a decade. This survey, alongside a previous resident survey, aims to provide valuable insights into the local economic climate and inform city services that directly impact businesses and residents alike.

Natasha Mazzi, the city’s budget and program monitoring director, introduced Jason Morado from ETC Institute, who presented the survey findings. The survey received 102 responses from a diverse range of businesses, including healthcare, finance, and retail, reflecting a broad spectrum of the local economy.

Key findings revealed that overall satisfaction with city services is high, particularly in areas such as public safety, sanitation, and street lighting. However, concerns were raised regarding traffic flow and the drainage system, which were identified as top priorities for improvement. These issues resonate with the results of last year’s resident survey, indicating a consistent community concern.

Morado emphasized that the most critical factors for businesses considering their future in Hallandale Beach include low crime rates, low taxation, and the city’s overall image. Notably, 59% of respondents felt that Hallandale Beach is a business-friendly community, suggesting a positive perception among local business owners.

The survey results will guide city officials in prioritizing services and addressing the needs of the business community, ultimately aiming to foster a healthier economic environment. As Hallandale Beach continues to evolve, the insights gained from this survey will be instrumental in shaping policies that benefit both businesses and residents, ensuring a vibrant and sustainable community for years to come.
