The second request aimed to permit two facade signs on the south elevation instead of the allowed one, intended to enhance visibility and break up the large facade surface area.

Ronnieberger explained that the proposed signage would consist of non-illuminated aluminum pin-mounted letters, with one sign positioned on the left side and another on the north elevation of the building. This request follows a previous approval for a similar variance at another location in 2022, emphasizing the company's desire for consistency across its branding.

City planner Christian Waterbaugh provided additional context, noting that the property is situated at the northwest corner of Commercial Boulevard and North Hiatus Road, with a zoning classification of Business Park. He highlighted that the variances align with the city’s 2040 strategic plan, which aims to support economic growth and address the needs of local businesses.

The board members engaged in a brief discussion, addressing concerns about the permanence and safety of the signage in adverse weather conditions. Waterbaugh assured them that the signs would be engineered to withstand such events.

Following the presentations and discussions, the board opened the floor for public comments, but no members of the public spoke. The board then moved to a vote, resulting in a unanimous recommendation for approval of the variance requests, passing 5-0. The recommendations will be forwarded to the city commission for further consideration at their upcoming meeting on June 25, 2025.
