Charlotte City Council discusses ARPA funding for water assistance and NAACP convention

However, Mayor Pro Tem raised concerns regarding the process of funding entities that had not submitted formal applications for financial assistance. She stressed the importance of prioritizing funding for essential services, specifically the fire and police departments, which play a vital role in community safety. She expressed that it would be unfair to allocate funds to organizations bypassing the established application process while first responders, who risk their lives daily, await support.
