During the meeting, a correction was made to the resolution regarding the Assessor's Parcel Number (APN), which had been inaccurately listed. This error was promptly addressed, allowing the project to move forward without further delays. The development will adhere to a minimum lot size of 10,000 square feet and is expected to align with the city’s general plan goals and policies.

The commission unanimously approved the project, with all members voting in favor. This decision is seen as a positive step towards addressing the housing needs in Ridgecrest, as the city continues to grow.

In addition to the housing development, the meeting also touched on various infrastructure improvements. A new stop sign has been installed at the intersection of Sunland and Bowman, with plans for further enhancements at Inyo and Graff. The city is also progressing on a $10 million project aimed at improving transportation and stormwater management, which includes paving and widening key roads, adding bike lanes, and enhancing ADA accessibility.

The Planning Commission is set to reconvene in June to discuss a conditional use permit for off-site signage, which has been postponed as the petitioner has yet to file the necessary documentation.
