A vibrant relaunch of Van Coffee is set to take place on May 31, 2025, as the Quincy Board of License Commissioners approved a one-day liquor license for the event. The ticketed gathering, aimed at those aged 21 and over, will run from 5 PM to midnight at 1456 Hancock Street. Architectural designer and DJ Cesar Tingjaka, who is involved in the event, emphasized the importance of attracting attention to the new Vietnamese coffee bar concept, which transitions from a mobile shop to a permanent location.
During the meeting, Tingjaka highlighted the dual purpose of the event: to celebrate the relaunch of Van Coffee and to showcase architectural visualization projects within Quincy. The board members expressed no concerns, swiftly moving to approve the request with a unanimous vote.
In addition to the Van Coffee event, the board also addressed a request from Linda Banh Mi LLC, doing business as Banh Mi Boston, for a common victualer license due to a change in ownership. Proposed manager Linda Lynn Nguyen confirmed that there would be no changes to the existing operations, and the board approved this request as well.
The approvals mark a significant step for local businesses, enhancing Quincy’s culinary scene and community engagement as summer approaches.
