Kootenai Health expands region with new Post Falls medical campus in partnership with MultiCare

Kootenai Health is making waves in North Idaho, positioning itself as a leading healthcare provider with a broad service area that extends beyond Kootenai County. During the recent Board of County Commissioners meeting, officials highlighted that Kootenai Health is now the third largest health system in Idaho, boasting a significant presence not only in Coeur D'Alene but also in Post Falls and Hayden, along with two critical access hospitals in Orofino and Clearwater.

A striking 35% of Kootenai Health's patients come from outside Kootenai County, including regions in Eastern Washington and Western Montana, showcasing its growing reputation as a healthcare destination. The institution offers a comprehensive range of services, including trauma care, heart surgery, and neonatal intensive care, while also being the only provider of inpatient behavioral health services in the area.

Kootenai Health's commitment to quality care is underscored by its impressive ratings from multiple organizations, reflecting strong outcomes and financial health. Notably, the health system has maintained a solid Standard and Poor's rating, allowing for continued investment and growth, even amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic.

Looking ahead, Kootenai Health is set to expand further with the acquisition of a 30-acre parcel in Post Falls, where it plans to develop a destination medical campus in partnership with MultiCare, a Washington-based health system. This ambitious project is expected to enhance healthcare access and services in the region, solidifying Kootenai Health's role as a cornerstone of healthcare in North Idaho.
