In a recent meeting held at Perryton High School, the band booster club celebrated the achievements of its senior members while also encouraging community involvement in supporting the band program. The meeting, which took place on May 26, 2025, highlighted upcoming events and scholarship awards aimed at fostering a strong connection between parents, students, and the band.

Mandy Kitchens, a representative of the booster club, called on parents to participate more actively in fundraising efforts and support activities for the band. She invited them to a booster meeting scheduled for July 14 at 6:30 PM at the band hall, emphasizing the importance of parental involvement in enhancing the students' experiences. Additionally, an ice cream social is planned for May 20, where students can enjoy making their own sundaes, further promoting community spirit.

The meeting also featured the awarding of three scholarships to deserving seniors. The Band Booster Scholarship, now in its fifth year, was awarded to Sergio Banda and Connor Kitchens, who submitted outstanding essays as part of their applications. The Adam Day Memorial Scholarship, established in honor of a former band member, was presented to Connor Kitchens, recognizing his dedication to music. Lastly, the Lane Anderson Memorial Scholarship, created to honor a beloved band member who passed away shortly before graduation, was awarded to Connor Kitchens as well, highlighting the profound impact of Lane's legacy on the band community.

In addition to the scholarships, seniors were presented with blankets as a token of appreciation for their hard work and commitment to the band throughout their high school years.
