The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) made significant strides during its recent commission work session, highlighting key updates in internal affairs and recognizing outstanding staff contributions.
Executive Director David Jaskowitz opened the meeting with an internal affairs update, detailing the training provided to the 2025 State Park Police Officer Accelerated Academy cadets. The training covered essential topics such as the TPWD complaint process, use of force reporting, and the distinctions between administrative and criminal investigations. This initiative aims to ensure that all officers are well-versed in department policies and best practices.
In a notable recognition, the department welcomed Lieutenant Miles Borsicki as the new leader of Wildlife Enforcement. Borsicki, a graduate of the sixtieth Texas Game Warden Academy, has an impressive background, having served in various counties since 2016. His experience includes being part of the law enforcement division's drone program and leading the West Texas peer support team. His promotion was met with enthusiasm, as he brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to his new role.
The meeting underscored TPWD's commitment to enhancing law enforcement training and recognizing the hard work of its personnel, setting a positive tone for future initiatives in wildlife management and conservation efforts across Texas.
