The Grand Prairie community celebrated a significant milestone with the rededication of the Haven Community Garden on May 23, 2025. The garden, supported by a grant from H-E-B and Keep Texas Beautiful, has been equipped with an automated drip irrigation system aimed at improving water conservation and sustaining its diverse orchard.

The garden features nearly two dozen fruit trees and plays a crucial role in supplying fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs to the nearby food pantry, which serves Grand Prairie families throughout the year. Community leaders expressed their gratitude for the partnerships that made this project possible, emphasizing the garden's impact on feeding the hungry and fostering community spirit.

In the past year, Keep Grand Prairie Beautiful's six community gardens collectively donated nearly 10,000 pounds of produce to local food pantries. This initiative not only addresses food insecurity but also encourages community engagement through workdays and gatherings, allowing residents to come together and support one another.
