Mercer Island School District (MISD) has taken a significant step towards sustainability by installing new electric vehicle (EV) chargers, enhancing access for both students and staff. During the recent board meeting on May 22, 2025, it was announced that the district has added a total of 10 EV chargers at the high school and 4 at the district building.
These chargers are available for use by all MISD staff and students during school hours, promoting eco-friendly transportation options within the community. After school hours, the chargers will also be accessible to the public, further encouraging the use of electric vehicles among residents.
This initiative reflects the district's commitment to sustainability and provides a practical resource for those looking to reduce their carbon footprint. As the demand for electric vehicles continues to grow, the installation of these chargers positions MISD as a forward-thinking district that prioritizes environmental responsibility. The community can look forward to the positive impact this will have on local air quality and the promotion of green energy solutions.
