Quincy Public Schools celebrated the achievements of its graduating class of 2025 during a recent ceremony, highlighting the accomplishments of 50 National Honor Society members and 55 students who earned the Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy.
The event commenced with the recognition of National Honor Society students, who were commended for their academic excellence and leadership. The list of honorees included a diverse group of students, showcasing the talent and dedication present within the Quincy community.
Following this, the spotlight turned to the Seal of Biliteracy recipients. This year, 55 seniors were honored for their proficiency in multiple languages, with nine students receiving the seal with distinction. Notably, four students achieved the seal in two world languages, reflecting the school district's commitment to fostering multilingualism. This year marked a significant milestone as Armenian and Polish were recognized for the first time, bringing the total number of languages acknowledged by Quincy Public Schools to 19 since the program's inception in 2023.
The ceremony emphasized the importance of language learning as a means of promoting global citizenship and cultural understanding. The students' achievements were celebrated not only as personal milestones but also as contributions to a more interconnected world. The support from families and educators was acknowledged as crucial to the students' success, reinforcing the community's role in nurturing linguistic and cultural diversity.
As the ceremony concluded, the achievements of these students were met with applause, marking a proud moment for Quincy Public Schools and its commitment to academic excellence and cultural appreciation.
