Omaha Council approves multiple liquor licenses for restaurants and cafes

Omaha's City Council meeting on May 20, 2025, saw a flurry of activity surrounding new liquor license applications, with all proposals receiving unanimous approval.

The highlight of the meeting was the approval of a Class E liquor license for Karnali Indian Cuisine, owned by Manoj Rokaya, located at 843 North 90th Street. Rokaya attended the meeting to answer questions, and the council swiftly moved to approve the license with a 5-0 vote, marking a significant step for the restaurant.

Following this, the council considered several other liquor license applications. The End Zone Sports Grill at 8525 Park Drive and Base Camp at 7309-7312 Jones Street both received Class I liquor licenses, with representatives present to address any inquiries. Each application was met with support, culminating in another 5-0 vote for both establishments.

Additionally, Flora Cafe, located at 1009 Farnham Street, also secured a Class I liquor license. The cafe, which will serve Mexican cuisine and brunch, received praise for its proposed hours of operation, which include extended hours on weekends. The council approved this application with a motion that included a waiver of park rule 7, again passing with a unanimous vote.

The swift approval of these licenses reflects the council's support for local businesses and the growing dining scene in Omaha. With all applications passing without opposition, the city is poised for an exciting expansion of its culinary offerings.
