The Richland County Office of Small Business Opportunity (OSBO) is ramping up efforts to support local businesses with an upcoming workshop aimed at enhancing contracting success. Scheduled for June 26, 2025, the event titled "Beyond the Bid: Strategies for Success with Richland County" will feature Jennifer Ladyshkin, the county's Director of Procurement, who will provide insights on how to effectively engage with county contracts.

The workshop promises a comprehensive agenda, including a live demonstration of OpenGov, Richland County's new e-procurement portal, and essential information on becoming a certified vendor. Currently, OSBO is managing a robust roster of 261 certified firms, including 7 architectural and engineering firms, 65 construction companies, and 79 professional service providers. The department is also processing two new applications and 20 renewals for small local business certifications, emphasizing its commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive business environment.
