Mayor Gregory Mills proclaimed May 1, 2025, as the National Day of Prayer in Brighton, emphasizing the importance of prayer across various faiths and its role in fostering unity and resilience within the community. The mayor encouraged residents to participate in prayer, reflecting on their freedoms and blessings. The event will take place at the Alley Event Center at 8 AM, inviting all citizens to join in.

In addition, the council proclaimed April 22, 2025, as Earth Day, recognizing the global movement that began in 1970.
