Southlake honors volunteers with annual service awards ceremony

The Southlake City Council meeting on May 20, 2025, highlighted the community's spirit of service and gratitude, particularly in light of the upcoming Memorial Day. Julie Cleck, the city’s volunteer coordinator, presented awards in three categories: the President's Volunteer Service Award, Lifetime Milestone Service Awards, and Junior and Adult Service Awards. This year, 38 individuals received the President's Volunteer Service Award, which honors those who inspire others through their volunteer efforts. Recipients included 17 bronze, 6 silver, and 15 gold awardees, each achieving varying hours of service.

The Milestone Service Awards celebrated volunteers who reached significant service hour milestones, with notable recognitions for individuals who have dedicated thousands of hours to community service. Ken Stewart, for instance, was honored for an impressive 7,000 hours of service, showcasing the extraordinary commitment of Southlake's volunteers.
