Mayor Dylan Rumrill of St. Augustine Beach hosted another edition of "Monday with the Mayor" at Lakeside Park, where he previewed the upcoming Art Bark in the Park event scheduled for Saturday from noon to 5 PM. The event promises a vibrant atmosphere with live music, including a performance by the Morrow Family Band.
Jim Morrow, the band’s leader, shared insights about their musical journey. The family band, consisting of Jim, his wife, and their daughter, has been performing together for nine years, building on Jim's earlier musical experiences from the 1990s. They describe their style as "Americana," featuring a mix of music from the 1950s to contemporary hits, appealing to a wide audience.
In addition to the live music, Art Bark in the Park will showcase various local artists and vendors, including those from Bridal Rescue Groups and Alaya Acres, offering painting, stained glass, jewelry, and ceramics. The event is supported by sponsors such as Florida Power and Light, the Art Studio, Historic Tours of America, Florida Arts and Culture, and the Embassy Suites.
This community gathering aims to celebrate local talent and foster a sense of togetherness among residents and visitors alike. The mayor expressed enthusiasm for the event, highlighting its potential to bring joy and entertainment to the community.
