Walpole High School seniors prepare for graduation amid numerous end-of-year events

Walpole Public Schools is gearing up for an exciting end to the school year, with seniors set to graduate in just four days. The school community is buzzing with events, including a senior breakfast, a senior walk, and a dinner to celebrate the Class of 2025. As AP exams conclude, students are also looking forward to various activities, including a career fair at Bridgewater State University on May 29 and another at Massasoit Community College on May 20.

In addition to these events, the school’s clubs and sports teams are actively engaging students. The speech and debate team recently showcased their talents, while the robotics club participated in local festivities. The Tri M Music Honor Society held an induction ceremony for new members, and the annual Pops Night concert is scheduled for May 23, aiming to raise funds for the Michael Falker Scholarship Fund, which supports music education.

A highlight of the meeting was the presentation by members of the Walpole High School Superintendent's Student Cabinet. This group of students shared their initiatives focused on enhancing academic engagement, promoting clubs, and fostering environmental sustainability. They emphasized the importance of student input in shaping school policies and programs.

The cabinet's work included creating a digital directory for clubs to increase accessibility and awareness among students, particularly for newcomers. They also initiated a mentorship program pairing upperclassmen with freshmen to ease the transition into high school. Additionally, the newly formed green team is advocating for sustainability practices within the school, such as composting and using reusable materials.
