The City of Cerritos is urging residents to participate in the upcoming General Municipal Election, with voting already underway. Every voter in Cerritos has received a vote-by-mail ballot, which includes three seats on the City Council and two charter amendment measures.
To ensure your vote counts, it’s crucial to sign and date the return envelope of your completed ballot. Voters have three convenient options for returning their ballots:
1. Drop off at one of the city’s vote-by-mail drop boxes, located at Cerritos Civic Center Plaza and Cerritos Park East, open until 8 PM on Tuesday, March 4.
2. Mail your ballot through the United States Postal Service—no postage is required. Just make sure it is postmarked by March 4 and received by the city clerk within seven days after the election.
3. Deliver your ballot directly to the office of the city clerk at Cerritos City Hall, where drop-offs are accepted until 8 PM on March 4.
In-person voting is also available at City Hall from now until March 4, with specific hours on weekends and Election Day. For more details, residents can visit the city’s election website or contact the city clerk’s office.
Additionally, Cerritos voters can participate in the State Senate District 36 Special Primary Election, which runs until February 25. It’s important to use the correct ballot and return envelope for each election, as the municipal election features a gray ballot, while the special primary election has a purple one.
Cerritos is encouraging all eligible voters to make their voices heard in these critical elections.
