South Madison honors retirees Dunn and Rosley for dedicated math teaching careers

The South Madison Community School Corporation (SMCSC) Board Meeting held on May 15, 2025, featured a heartfelt tribute to two retiring educators from the math department, Mrs. Dunn and Mrs. Rosley, who collectively contributed 73 years of service to the district.

Mrs. Dunn, who dedicated 37 years to SMCSC, was recognized for her profound impact on students and her commitment to education. Throughout her career, she not only taught mathematics but also took on various roles, including sponsorship of the academic team and SADD, and coaching. As she transitions into retirement, Mrs. Dunn plans to work as a tour director with Music Travel Consultants, combining her organizational skills and love for education.

Mrs. Rosley, retiring after 36 years, was celebrated for her extensive teaching experience across multiple math courses, including algebra and advanced dual credit classes. She expressed her desire to enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle in retirement, focusing on family, travel, and personal interests. Mrs. Rosley fondly reflected on her time at SMCSC, particularly the opportunity to teach alongside her son, and emphasized her appreciation for the supportive community.

The meeting concluded with expressions of gratitude for both educators, highlighting their dedication and the lasting impact they have made on the South Madison community. The board and attendees acknowledged their contributions and wished them well in their future endeavors.
