Hayden Homes proposes new development project in Rathdrum

Hayden Homes is making a significant impact in Rathdrum, as the company presented its plans for new housing developments at the City Council meeting on May 14, 2025. Deborah Flagan, Vice President of Hayden Homes, highlighted the company's commitment to building affordable homes for the community, particularly for families and retirees on fixed incomes.

Flagan emphasized the company's long-standing presence in Rathdrum, noting their contributions to local initiatives such as the youth scholarship fund and the food bank. She also announced a partnership with the Panhandle Affordable Housing Alliance to construct 28 homes for hardworking residents struggling with rising housing costs. This initiative aims to provide affordable housing options for those earning below the area median income.

In addition, Flagan shared that Hayden Homes has built 123 homes through their nonprofit, First Story, which offers zero-interest loans to families earning 80% or less of the area median income. Notably, 80% of these homeowners are first-time buyers, with 15% being educators in the community.

Eric Sheck, the Land Development Director, introduced plans for a new property located at the corner of Vocal and Meyer Road, which they hope to develop into a long-term housing solution. This project reflects Hayden Homes' dedication to designing and developing properties that meet the needs of the Rathdrum community.
