Bay County officials have successfully resolved a long-standing code violation issue involving a property owned by Danny Halstead. After multiple inspections and failed attempts to rectify the situation, the county took decisive action to ensure compliance with local regulations.
The property, which had been under scrutiny since September 2024, was found to be cluttered with junk, appliances, and derelict vehicles. Despite the owner's claims of progress, inspections in October and December revealed no significant changes. In January 2025, a notice of intent was sent to Halstead, indicating that the county would begin enforcement actions if the violations were not addressed.
By March, the situation escalated when a red tag was placed on a recreational vehicle on the property, signaling that it would be towed if not removed. The county's patience wore thin as inspections continued to show no improvement. Ultimately, the county contracted a cleanup service, which removed the violations at a cost of $2,480.
As of May 11, 2025, the property was finally found to be in compliance, marking a successful resolution to the case. This outcome underscores the county's commitment to maintaining community standards and ensuring that properties adhere to local codes. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of property maintenance and the potential consequences of neglecting such responsibilities.
