The county recently celebrated this milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the end of a long-awaited project aimed at enhancing correctional operations and community safety.
The new facility, which spans 109,000 square feet and features 332 beds, is designed with modern security and technology in mind. It includes dedicated spaces for medical and mental health services, rehabilitation, and educational programs. Dinah Jose, the director of corrections, emphasized the facility's therapeutic approach, stating, "We have an opportunity to enhance the services that we provide... whether it's medical, mental health, even programs and services such as educational and outreach within the community."
