Wilmington Chamber aims to highlight community businesses beyond Main Street

During the recent Board of Trustees Work Session on May 12, 2025, community leaders emphasized the need to broaden the focus of local business showcases beyond the main commercial areas. Trustee Teets highlighted that while the Main Streets initiative has been beneficial, it is crucial to recognize and promote the diverse range of businesses throughout the community.

Teets pointed out that there are 437 registered businesses in the area, yet many residents feel disconnected from these enterprises. He urged the chamber of commerce and local organizations to extend their marketing efforts to include businesses outside the central districts, ensuring that all community members are aware of the vibrant economic activity happening around them.
