Newman City Council approves youth council appointments and reappointments

The Newnan City Council convened for its regular meeting on May 13, 2025, beginning with a prayer led by the Mayor, followed by the approval of the minutes from the previous meeting in April. The minutes were adopted unanimously after a motion and a second.

The meeting featured the introduction of attendees from the Newnan Youth Council, including Emma Kaylor, Sadie Keach, and Annie Lehi Winstead, who were recognized for their participation and upcoming graduations.

The council proceeded to discuss appointments to various boards and commissions. The first nomination was for Jennifer Morrison to fill a vacant seat on the Convention Authority, which was approved without opposition. Cindy Idson was reappointed to the Neurah Commission Authority, and Lilly Smith was reappointed to the Youth Activities Commission, both decisions also passing with unanimous support.
