The Timberlane Regional School District is buzzing with excitement as students and staff prepare for a series of engaging events and activities this May. Abby Robinson, the student school board representative, shared a comprehensive update highlighting key happenings across the district during the recent TRSB meeting.
At the high school level, students are gearing up for their senior prom on May 16, following a series of honor society induction ceremonies. Advanced Placement (AP) exams have also commenced, marking a critical period for students. A special event, Big Buddy Little Buddy, is set for May 20, where high schoolers will reunite with their third-grade pen pals from Pollard Elementary.
Middle school students are not left out, as 13 seniors recently presented to eighth graders, offering insights and advice for their upcoming transition to high school. This Friday, the cafeteria will host the Make a Difference projects, inviting families to support students and vote for parent choice awards.
At Atkinson Academy, first graders enjoyed a visit from Wildlife Encounters, learning about animal adaptations. The school is also preparing for a state parade on May 16, where fourth graders will showcase floats representing different states. Additionally, second graders will explore local landmarks on May 20 and 21, enhancing their community awareness.
Pollard Elementary celebrated Arbor Day with an assembly honoring student artists and poets. Meanwhile, Danville School's second and third graders participated in Gizmo's Possum Guide to Mental Health, featuring a visit from a service dog, thanks to the Southern Rockingham Coalition for Healthy Youth.
The district also celebrated musical talent with a chorus concert for grades 4 through 7, and the annual PTA Sweetheart Dance brought families together for a fun evening. Sandown School's principals for the day, Enzo and Hannah, successfully led a calendar fundraiser, while students enjoyed an anti-bullying presentation from Hampstead Middle School.
In a special visit, popular weatherman Kevin Skarupa from WMUR engaged with third graders at Sandown North, even making a news appearance to highlight the school’s spirit. Author David Rickey also visited both Sandown and Atkinson, sharing his beloved stories with students.
As the month progresses, the Stand Down Girls on the Run team is preparing for their official 5K in Concord on May 31. With so many enriching activities taking place, the Timberlane Regional School District continues to foster a vibrant and supportive learning environment for its students.
