A vibrant showcase of student creativity and community spirit took center stage at the East Haven Board of Education meeting on May 13, 2025. Students presented a variety of projects, including seasonal flower arrangements and pet-themed crafts, highlighting their entrepreneurial skills and teamwork.
Bryce and Emily, two students from the program, captivated the audience with their presentations, showcasing items like Valentine’s chocolates and Halloween decorations. Their enthusiasm was infectious, prompting audience members to engage with thumbs-up responses, indicating strong support for their initiatives. The students also discussed their recent plant sale, which was well-received, and expressed hopes for future sales to benefit their community.
The meeting also celebrated the achievements of local educators. Three teachers from Joseph Malillo Middle School and Tuttle School were honored as East Haven Teachers of the Year, with Lauren Condosta selected as the district's representative for the state-level competition. Additionally, two paraeducators received recognition for their outstanding contributions, with Angela Catalano set to apply for a prestigious state award.
