Charlton's Select Board approved two significant requests for utility pole installations during their meeting on May 13, 2025, enhancing service to new residential homes in the area.

The first request, from National Grid and Verizon New England, involved the installation of a joint-use pole on Denfield Road. This installation will provide essential service to a new home, with the project receiving prior approval from both the police chief and the Department of Public Works (DPW) superintendent. No concerns were raised by the public, leading to a swift approval process. The board unanimously voted in favor of the request after a brief public hearing, which saw no attendees voicing any objections.

Shortly after, the board addressed a similar request for East Bayleys Road, where another joint-use pole is set to be installed for a new residential home. Like the previous request, this proposal was also approved without public dissent, following the same streamlined process.
