Pittsboro Commissioners Honor National Police Week and Recognize Local Businesses

The Pittsboro Board of Commissioners convened on May 12, 2025, for a regular meeting focused on community updates, recognitions, and budget discussions. Mayor Kyle Shipp opened the meeting with a moment of silence, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Commissioner Farrell.

In a celebratory segment, the board recognized Tiana Thurber as the 2024 Pittsboro Main Street Champion for her contributions to the downtown area through her business, Reclamation, and her leadership in local events and organizations. The meeting also acknowledged Doherty's Irish Pub and Restaurant for receiving the 2025 North Carolina Main Street Award for best infill building project, highlighting their efforts in enhancing the downtown landscape.

The meeting concluded with a series of resolutions honoring both Thurber and Doherty's for their impactful roles in the community's growth and vibrancy. The board expressed gratitude for their contributions and encouraged continued community involvement in local initiatives.
