The Delaware Valley School District's May 2025 Work Session highlighted the introduction of a new elective course focused on digital media and design, set to launch in the upcoming academic year. The course, which may also be referred to as digital content creation, is designed to allow students to take control of producing various media, including videos and promotional materials for school events. This concept builds on previous efforts led by Dr. Pope, which included the installation of digital boards in the gymnasium and on the field, as well as a marquee outside the school. These boards have provided students with opportunities to showcase their work, such as hype videos for events like the Special Olympics, which have been well-received by both students and their families.

Currently, content creation is primarily handled by students in the business and marketing Career and Technical Education (CTE) class. However, the district recognizes the enthusiasm of these students and aims to create a dedicated space for them to focus on digital media. The new course will be offered in the art department and will utilize existing resources, including a Mac lab equipped with necessary technology.

Students enrolled in this half-year elective will engage in both computer programming and computer art, allowing them to develop skills that contribute to the district's visual communications. The district believes this course will foster a sense of community by enabling students to celebrate their peers' achievements through their creative work.
