West Valley City leaders are gearing up for significant changes in the community, with a proposed townhome development taking center stage at the recent City Council Study Meeting. The project, presented by Concord Homes, aims to rezone four parcels at 3201 South Redwood Road to accommodate a new residential area while retaining commercial zoning on part of the site.
During the meeting, Community Development Director Steve Pastrick provided an update on the proposal, which has been under discussion for several weeks. The plan includes transitioning most of the property to a Residential Multi-family (RM) zone, allowing for the construction of townhomes. However, concerns were raised regarding the balance of commercial and residential spaces along the frontage, as well as shared parking arrangements between the new townhomes and existing commercial properties.

Acknowledgments were made for local businesses contributing to community projects, showcasing a collaborative spirit among residents and city officials.
As the council prepares for the upcoming public hearing, the proposed townhome development stands as a pivotal point for West Valley City, promising to reshape the area while balancing the needs of both residential and commercial interests.
