Queen Creek Town Council recognized the vital contributions of municipal clerks and public works professionals during its regular session on May 8, 2025. The meeting highlighted May as Professional Municipal Clerks Week, honoring the essential roles clerks play in conducting elections, preserving public records, and supporting legislative activities. Mayor and council members expressed their gratitude to Queen Creek Town Clerks, Maria and Victoria, for their exemplary service, with Maria receiving special recognition for being named to the municipal clerks honor roll.
In addition to honoring clerks, the council celebrated Public Works Week, acknowledging the critical infrastructure and services provided by public works professionals. Council member Benning emphasized the importance of these workers in maintaining the town's sustainability and resilience. The council also spotlighted a partnership with the East Valley Institute of Technology, which offered unpaid mechanic internships to local students. Interns Boston Bean and Anthony Thomas completed 159 hours with the Public Works Fleet Division, gaining hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repairs.
