Far Chamber welcomes new businesses and promotes National Small Business Week events

The Chamber Board Meeting held on May 6, 2025, in Pharr, Texas, focused on welcoming new members, discussing recent events, and promoting local businesses. The meeting commenced with a warm welcome to silver members, including Center Church, Arambula's Land Clearing and Demolition, Moneywise Financial Decisions, Red Line Fire Solutions, and Drive Through. Special recognition was given to Mr. Guerra and Ms. Guillen for their efforts in recruiting new members.

The board highlighted the achievements of Moneywise Financial Decisions, which has been operating for 34 years, and Red Line Fire Solutions, a local business known for providing fire safety services across the Rio Grande Valley. The meeting also welcomed gold members, including Cutting Edge Insurance, which is set to hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the coming months.

Corporate membership updates included renewals from Frost Bank and Member Construction, alongside new members CIL Capital and IKEA. CIL Capital recently celebrated the opening of a new business plaza, while IKEA is expected to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony in late August.

In recognition of National Small Business Week, the Chamber is running a social media campaign to support local businesses, featuring daily themes to encourage community engagement and patronage.

The meeting proceeded with a review of past events, including a successful tax cycle presentation in partnership with the Hidalgo County Appraisal District, which attracted over 50 attendees. The board expressed gratitude for the collaboration and engagement during the event.

Additionally, the CIL Capital Development Solutions ribbon-cutting ceremony showcased new businesses that will occupy the plaza, including La Gana Dera meat market and Dona Lula Taco Restaurant. The Mayor attended this event, emphasizing community support for local development.

Lastly, the meeting discussed the Pawsable Dream Foundation press conference, which announced the establishment of an adult charter school in Pharr. This initiative aims to provide high school diplomas to adults aged 18 to 50, with strong backing from the city.

Overall, the meeting underscored the Chamber's commitment to fostering local business growth and community development, with several upcoming events and initiatives aimed at enhancing the local economy.
