Fox Chapel Area Schools celebrate 25 years of dedicated service from educators

The Fox Chapel Area School Board held a Combined Agenda Study Session and Regular Business Meeting on May 5, 2025, where several key topics were discussed, including the recognition of educators celebrating 25 years of service within the district.

The meeting commenced with the introduction of Hartwood Elementary School Principal Dr. Rachel Fishbaugh, who honored two educators, Jody Trevaglia and Corina Grand, for their long-standing commitment to the school. Dr. Fishbaugh praised Trevaglia for her curriculum development and competitive spirit, while Grand was recognized for her engaging classroom environment that fosters student enjoyment and participation. Both educators were celebrated for their contributions to Hartwood and were wished well in their upcoming retirements.

Following this, Kerr Elementary School Principal Ms. Caitlin Toth introduced three employees also marking 25 years of service. Mary Ellen Delansky, who began her career as a personal care assistant, was commended for her dedication to student support and her positive impact on the school community. Jackie Kozitek, a reading specialist, was acknowledged for her commitment to literacy and her role in fostering student success. Lastly, Tina Thompson, a special education teacher, was recognized for her enthusiasm and dedication to meeting the needs of her students.

Dorseyville Middle School Principal Dr. Laura Miller then took the floor to honor three educators from her school. Kristen Pollock, a school counselor, was celebrated for her compassionate support of students. Christy Rupert and Lynn Erdos, both mathematics teachers, were recognized for their excellence in teaching and their contributions to student learning and confidence in math.

The meeting concluded with Fox Chapel Area High School Principal Dr. Michelle Young introducing Amy Montgomery, a French teacher, who was acknowledged for her dedication and the legacy she continues from her retired mother, also a former teacher in the district.

Overall, the meeting highlighted the significant contributions of long-serving educators across the district, emphasizing their impact on students and the school community. The board expressed gratitude for their dedication and commitment to education, with plans to present additional recognitions at future meetings for those unable to attend.
