The Brentwood Planning Commission convened on May 5, 2025, to discuss various community development issues, with a significant focus on recreational facilities within the Rosebrook community.
The meeting began with a discussion regarding the rejection of several homeowner association requests to add private pickleball facilities to individual residences. This prompted a conversation about the need for more community amenities, particularly pickleball courts, to meet growing demand. The commission considered allocating additional funds to support the development of these facilities, viewing it as an opportunity to address community requests.
Commissioner Lundgren raised questions about parking availability, confirming that the plan includes nine parking spaces, with additional spaces designated for golf carts. The commission also discussed access control measures for the proposed courts, which will be monitored using key fobs and will have time restrictions.
The proposal includes two dedicated pickleball courts and two tennis courts, with one of the tennis courts designed to accommodate pickleball with a removable net. The intent is for these facilities to serve the entire Rosebrook community, particularly the under-development Rosebrook Main and the established Rosebrook South. However, the commission clarified that there are no plans to duplicate these facilities in the future for other Rosebrook subdivisions.
The meeting concluded with a consensus on the importance of providing recreational amenities to enhance community engagement and satisfaction. Further discussions and planning will continue as the project develops.
