Officer Keith responded to a distress call regarding an infant not breathing. Despite his immediate actions to perform CPR, the infant sadly did not survive. Nonetheless, his quick response was acknowledged as a commendable effort.
Following this, Officers Levi Wigfords and Mike Abhis Tejo received Certificates of Special Achievement for their actions on December 26, 2024. They responded to a call about a possible opioid overdose. Upon arrival, Officer Wigfords assessed the situation and began CPR, while Officer Abhis Tejo retrieved Narcan, which they administered successfully, reviving the patient before emergency medical services arrived.

Subscribe for Free Officer Mike Abhis Tejo was further recognized for his proactive policing throughout 2024, having conducted 837 traffic stops, issued 304 citations, and made 15 felony arrests, showcasing his dedication to public safety.
Animal Control Officer Chelsea Hawes was also honored for her multifaceted contributions to the department, which included roles beyond her title, such as public information officer and vehicle collision investigator. Her completion of a specialized course in crash investigation further highlighted her commitment to her duties.
The meeting continued with the presentation of Police Public Safety Achievement Awards to Sergeant Garvin, Officer Ghana, and Officer Johnson for their bravery during a critical incident involving a barricaded subject who fired at responding officers. Their actions in securing the perimeter and ensuring public safety were commended.
Sergeant Justin McNeil received the Police Medal of Valor for his leadership during the same incident. As a member of the White Mountain Special Response Team, he coordinated the response to the threat, demonstrating exceptional courage and tactical skill in a highly dangerous situation.
The meeting concluded with a strong emphasis on the dedication and bravery of the officers, reflecting the town's commitment to recognizing those who serve and protect the community.
