Peachtree City enforces lawn maintenance ordinance to control high grass and weeds

The Peachtree City Code Enforcement held a meeting on May 2, 2025, focusing on the enforcement of regulations regarding high grass and weeds. Tim, a representative from the Code Enforcement team, outlined the city's policies concerning this issue.

According to the city ordinance, residents are required to maintain their lawns, keeping grass and weeds at a height of 8 inches or below. If a property is found to be in violation of this ordinance, the owner will receive a notice of violation. Residents have 48 hours to address the issue by mowing their lawns. The city is permitted to issue only one notice of violation per year. However, if the problem persists, further action may be taken, including the possibility of a citation and a court appearance in Peachtree City Municipal Court.

Tim emphasized the importance of compliance and encouraged residents to reach out to Code Enforcement with any questions regarding the regulations. This meeting served as a reminder for the community to stay informed about local ordinances and maintain their properties to avoid penalties.
