Dr. Ju Wong, the FPPC's chief of administration, detailed several recent legislative changes that necessitate this funding. Key among these is Assembly Bill 2355, which mandates that campaign advertisements featuring artificial intelligence-generated content include a disclaimer. Other significant legislation includes Assembly Bill 2041, which allows candidates to use campaign funds for security expenses, and Senate Bill 1156, requiring members of groundwater sustainability agencies to file financial disclosures directly with the FPPC.
