Kaneland CUSD 302 celebrated a remarkable year in athletics during their recent meeting, highlighting the achievements of standout student athletes and coaches. Coach West took center stage, proudly announcing that Deanni Torres, a senior, leaves the program with the most wins in school history, totaling 123 victories. The meeting also recognized Brooklyn Schafer, a four-time state qualifier and two-time medalist, alongside Angelina, a two-time state champion.
The program's growth was underscored by invitations to prestigious tournaments, including the Donnybrook tournament and events in Missouri, Ohio, and Delaware. Coach West emphasized the team's progress, stating, "We're really building a quality program that we can be proud of."
In addition to the student achievements, Coach West was nominated for Coach of the Year in his division, further showcasing the success of the girls' wrestling program.
