She questioned the allocation of funds within the proposed budget, which included $1 million for additional administrative positions while proposing a pay freeze for classified workers and cuts to school-level positions. Pope expressed her concerns about the lack of transparency and the potential impact on workers and students, stating, “Without these answers, there can't be budget transparency, no accountability, and no collaboration.”

The meeting also featured comments from Christy Clem, a physical therapist and classified employee, who raised questions about the district's commitment to classified staff. Clem highlighted the uncertainty surrounding pay increases and the need for clear communication regarding future financial plans.
