During a recent joint information meeting, Teton County officials discussed the progress and future needs of the Teton Community Well-being Dashboard, a project spearheaded by Legacy Works Group. This innovative tool aims to track community well-being across eight interconnected focus areas, providing valuable data to residents, leaders, and service providers.
The dashboard, which has already attracted nearly 3,000 unique visitors since its launch last summer, serves as a centralized resource for information on housing, health, and education. It is designed to enhance decision-making and promote coordinated services within the community. The dashboard also features clear storytelling and Spanish translations, making it more accessible to a diverse audience.
Legacy Works Group emphasized the importance of continued funding to expand the dashboard's capabilities. Currently, the dashboard includes data from various local initiatives, but there is a pressing need to develop additional focus areas, such as sustainable ecosystems and economic security. The organization is seeking $20,000 to support these efforts, which include updating existing data, translating it into Spanish, and creating resource pages that link users to local support services.
Council members expressed interest in the dashboard's potential to highlight community needs and improve access to resources. They noted that many residents are using the dashboard not just for data, but also to find help. The dashboard's resource pages will direct users to organizations that provide assistance in areas like housing and mental health.
The meeting underscored the collaborative nature of the project, with over 70 local partners contributing to its development. Legacy Works Group aims to build on this foundation, leveraging existing data to create a more comprehensive tool that reflects the community's needs.
As the council prepares to deliberate on the funding request, the future of the Teton Community Well-being Dashboard remains a focal point for enhancing community resilience and well-being in Teton County. The initiative represents a significant step toward fostering a more informed and connected community, ultimately helping residents achieve their full potential for health and well-being.
