The City of Newark is taking significant steps to support local businesses and enhance community engagement through upcoming events. During the recent City Council meeting, officials announced a financial resiliency workshop aimed at small business owners, scheduled for Monday, April 28, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the Newark Library Community Meeting Room. This workshop, which builds on a successful previous session, will help participants better understand their financial statements and make informed decisions. The event is free and open to all Newark businesses, with translation services available in Spanish, Vietnamese, and Mandarin.

In addition to supporting local businesses, the city is also promoting environmental stewardship with a tree planting event on Saturday, May 3, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Mel Noon Sportsfield Park. This initiative, which follows the Arbor Day proclamation, will involve planting 15 to 20 trees, contributing to the beautification of the city and the numerous benefits that trees provide.
