Machesse Park honors Harlem High School bowling team for historic season achievements

Under the bright lights of the Machesney Park Village Hall, a wave of excitement filled the room as the Harlem High School boys bowling team gathered to celebrate their remarkable achievements. The atmosphere buzzed with pride as the team, coaches, and families lined up at the podium, ready to receive recognition for a season that would go down in history.

During the April 21, 2025, Village Board Meeting, the Harlem High School boys varsity bowling team was honored for their outstanding performance, finishing the season with an impressive 9-0 record in conference play. They not only clinched the regional and sectional championships but also secured a commendable second place at the state level. The accolades didn’t stop there; seven of the ten athletes named to the all-conference team hailed from Harlem, marking a historic achievement for the school and the conference.

The village presented a plaque to the team, acknowledging their dedication and hard work. The plaque read, “The village of Machesney Park proudly recognizes the Harlem High School 2024-2025 boys' varsity bowling team for an outstanding season.” The recognition was a testament to the commitment of the players, coaches, and supportive families who contributed to this success.

Trustee Wilson, who read the proclamation, highlighted the significance of having seven athletes on the all-conference team, a feat never before accomplished in the conference's history.
