The St. Mary's County Public Schools Board of Education meeting on April 23, 2025, highlighted the achievements and upcoming events of student government associations (SGAs) at Choctaw Con and Great Mills high schools.
Choctaw Con's SGA has been actively engaged in planning their homecoming event, themed "Cloud 9," which has been well-received. They successfully raised funds to allow every student to attend the Maryland Association of Student Councils (MASC) convention for free, providing valuable experiences for participants. Notably, senior Sophia has taken on the role of mental health coordinator for MASC, serving as a liaison between the state organization and her school. The SGA is also focused on increasing visibility and involvement within MASC and the Student Maryland Association of Student Councils (SMASC).
