The 57th Annual Fire, Police & Deputy Sheriff's Community Recognition Luncheon took place on April 24, 2025, in Indianapolis, celebrating the dedication and bravery of local public safety officials. Hosted by Citizens Energy Group, the event honored police officers, firefighters, and sheriff deputies who serve the community.

Jeffrey Harrison, President and CEO of Citizens Energy Group, opened the luncheon by expressing gratitude to attendees and acknowledging the importance of recognizing those who protect and serve Indianapolis. He highlighted the event's long-standing tradition, which has been upheld for over 15 years by Citizens Energy Group, originally established by the former Indianapolis Water Company.

The ceremony included a moment of silence for Engineer Michael Finnegan of the Indianapolis Fire Department, who passed away in the past year. The program featured the posting of colors by the honor guard, a performance of the national anthem by Leah Crane, and an invocation by IMPD Chaplain John Russell, who emphasized the courage and commitment of public safety personnel.

Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett addressed the audience, thanking Citizens Energy Group and other sponsors for their support. He noted that the awards presented during the event are peer-nominated, recognizing the sacrifices made by first responders. Mayor Hogsett praised the honorees for their dedication to creating a safer and more prosperous Indianapolis.

Eric Halverson from Kroger also spoke, expressing appreciation for the service provided by public safety officials and acknowledging the vital role of their families in supporting their work. He presented a donation to the Public Safety Education Fund as a token of gratitude for the community's first responders.

The luncheon served as a reminder of the commitment and sacrifices made by those in uniform, fostering a sense of unity and appreciation within the Indianapolis community.
