The city issued a total of 93 permits this year, with notable projects including an office remodel for Wilson Trailer and an expansion of Ace Hardware, which is set to take over ten additional spaces.

The commission noted that both commercial and residential permit values have increased compared to 2023. Specifically, commercial permits rose from eight last year to eleven this year, while residential permits nearly doubled, jumping from 143 to 182. The total value of construction in Lennox reached approximately $37 million, marking it as the best building year on record, surpassing even the previous high in 2022.

While a portion of this value is non-taxable due to school district projects, the overall growth reflects a robust development climate in the community. The commission members expressed optimism about the ongoing progress in various areas, including the countryside developments, which have become a local attraction with their festive light displays.
