Head coach Justin Uefalemana passionately advocated for the team, highlighting the need for a dedicated space for practices and competitions, as current sessions are held in makeshift conditions at a family home.

Uefalemana expressed gratitude for the community's support, particularly from the Molokai Police Department, and emphasized the importance of wrestling in providing opportunities for local youth. He noted that the team is seeking $30,000 to help cover travel expenses for competitions off-island, which can be costly due to limited transportation options. The team has been actively fundraising through community events, including upcoming activities at Earth Day and the Makahiki festival.

The meeting featured heartfelt testimonies from team members and parents, underscoring the positive impact of wrestling on the youth. Nyla, a wrestler who relocated to Molokai after the Lahaina fires, shared how the team welcomed her and fostered a sense of belonging. Parent Lea Shey Takashima praised the program for instilling determination and civic responsibility in the children.

The committee members acknowledged the team's efforts and the challenges they face, particularly regarding travel costs.
