Goodyear celebrates 20th anniversary of Heart and Soul run with new participant record

The Goodyear City Council meeting on April 18, 2025, highlighted significant community developments, including the successful Heart and Soul event and the upcoming opening of the Alice Cooper's Goodyear Rock Teen Center.

During the meeting, officials reported that the Heart and Soul event celebrated its twentieth anniversary with 600 registered participants, marking a 20% increase from the previous year. The event featured a new route that concluded at the Goodyear Ballpark, complete with DJ stations at every mile to enhance the atmosphere. City officials expressed gratitude to the Goodyear Ballpark team, police department, fire department, and event staff for their contributions to the event's success.

Additionally, the council discussed the transformation of the former library into the Alice Cooper's Goodyear Rock Teen Center, which is set to open on December 12. This facility will cater to youth aged 12 to 20 and will include a stage, art spaces, a dance area, and a recording studio. The center aims to provide a creative outlet for local teens, filling a gap in community resources for this age group.

A special concert featuring Alice Cooper is scheduled for April 26, which will take place behind the police station. The event is expected to attract around 3,000 attendees and is free for participants aged 12 to 20.
